Tea With the Enemy

Tea With the Enemy

In November 2013, two men that couldn't be more apart meet over tea on the shores of Lake Qargha in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Mullah Toor Jan - a 28 year-old Afghan who, up until recently, had been fighting Western soldiers, including Canadians, alongside his Taliban brothers.

Martin Forgues – a 33 year-old who, up until recently, had been fighting the Taliban in Kandahar as a Canadian soldier.

One became a political activist, the other a freelance journalist.

Both had laid down their arms.

A conversation started with mutual distrust but ended with mutual respect and an obvious truth – both young men were two faces of the same medal ; two young idealists from diametrically opposed cultures, trained and educated to hate each other and swept into the deadly spiral of war.

A film that dares asking an important question : what makes an "enemy"?
